P.Nt2 Renovation Towards A Habitat-Work Environment: Concrete Interventions
Brussels, April 6, 2010 – Transformation of a former orfevery towards an environment for habitation and work. One day the site was silted up. Due to partial demolitions, it obtained a larger permeability which means that each of the spaces was provided with plenty of air and light. This allows the transformation into live and working spaces. The redevelopment contains a privacy gradient between public boulevard, semipublic courtyards, private lofts and gardens.

Conversations with Melvin Charney
Montreal, 16 March 2010 – On 18 March 2010, the Canadian Centre for Architecture will launch The Painted Photographs of Melvin Charney: Between Observation and Intervention, a book published by Americas Society and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec following a major 2008 exhibition, at the Americas Society in New York, devoted to the work of the artist and architect Melvin Charney. More than a tribute to Charney, or an analysis of the importance of the combined use of photography and painting in his work, this book offers a rare opportunity to discover the conceptual premises and intimate spirit of an exceptional figure who has not only marked contemporary art in the last three decades of the twentieth century, but has also profoundly influenced generations of architects.

Montreal, September 25th, 2007 – Think Glass, the Montreal-based castglass manufacturer, has built the world’s largest cast-glass walls for the One South Dearborn lobby in Chicago.
Echoing the building’s curtainwalls of texturized glass, the One South Dearborn project integrates two 18’ x 40’ walls made of 10’ x 3’ cast-glass panels. Each panel was cast using a semi-industrial process that allows Think Glass to imprint the glass with artistic effects and textures, extending two to three inches in thickness. | |
