+ The Tendance Showroom As soon as you enter, you are introduced to the world of the kitchen through the work surface in custom-moulded glass that acts as the reception area. The artwork on the wall, made of limestone imported from Italy by Intersurfaces, the column covered with I Frammenti lustrous golden porcelain, and the Regency style 24-carat gold mesh are exclusives that bespeak the elegance and luxury of Tendances Concept in Montreal.
This welcoming, friendly point of sale displays the great diversity and creativity of the team of kitchen designers. Five kitchens, a butler’s pantry, a washroom, a walk-in closet, and a conference room provide examples of the Tendance Concept expertise. The latest appliance lines by Élica, Gagueneau, DCS, and Fisher and Paykel are also featured.
Chenonceau A true classic stands proudly in the display window, adorned with sheer drapery by Dumont, Lalande. The Chenonceau line is worthy of the Renaissance castle that is its namesake, with its tall china cabinets, Hauteville stone surfaces, and majestic island with a Concept Giroux Brazilian mahogany wood counter. Mouldings with raised centre in an antique cream patina, a range hood with carved-wood corbels, and a La Cornue range complete the décor.
Enzo In contrast, Enzo, in a modern style inspired by European design, offers surprises such as the faucet that drops straight down from the ceiling (available at Baliscus). The shimmering Hermès orange lacquer is reflected in the moulded-glass counter created by Thinkglass. The kitchen becomes an architectural element thanks to its integrated furniture and innovative accessories. The ultra-polished stainless-steel backsplash and counter include a moulded sink designed by Décor Inox. This kitchen, exclusive to Tendances Concept, has been certified a Dynamic Space by the Austrian manufacturer Blum. Its ergonomic concept maximizes work-space efficiency.
Unick With a clean, contemporary look, Unick creates a relaxed feeling with its walnut and lacquer cabinets with invisible handles, its backsplash covered with mother-of-pearl touches (distributed by Terra), and its organic ivory quartz counters. The natural materials and pure lines evoke a return to sources and serenity. A large full-height integrated cabinet conceals the shelving. The friendly all-wood table encourages communication.
Caméo Decorated in purple and charcoal, adorned with a crystal chandelier, Caméo is absolutely elegant. Tendances Concept has reinvented the Shaker door by refining the detail of the wood edging. A warm, dramatic ambience is created by the pure-white counters and the perfect Del lighting by Alterego.
Hampton With its East Coast influence and revisited traditional style, this kitchen with frame construction with inlay doors exposes its polished-nickel hinges and handles. The island, shelving, and service space in espresso-tinted solid cherry wood offset the omnipresent diamond white. The semi-precious-stone work surface (marble granite, Marbre Etcetera) is rare and impressive. With its functional appliances and accessories, this kitchen is transformed into a laboratory for the best culinary experiments. The coffered ceiling, lacquered mantel, and wainscoting complete this coastline décor.
Personalized Service for Privileged Guests Privileged guests are received at their convenience, according to their availability, and in complete privacy. Whether or not they are accompanied by their architect or designer, clients are treated to the expertise of guest chefs, who prepare breakfast or lunch before their eyes so that the space may be experienced while they conceptualize their dream kitchen. According to Diane Commerford, the company’s vice-president, imagination has no limits: beech drawers from Hettich, dovetailing, frame construction with inlay doors/visible hinges, exotic woods, semi-precious stones –Tendances Concept has the know-how to produce the most extravagant projects.
A conference room is available to clients. Centrally located in the space and enclosed with glass walls, it is open to the showroom while maintaining privacy. The white-marble and black-granite floor and the white-marble table are in harmony with the handmade plaster mouldings made by Longchamp Architectural inc.
Finally, manufacturing times are only 6 to 8 weeks for a wood kitchen and 10 weeks for an “Italian” lacquered polyurethane kitchen. The kitchen designers at Tendances Concept work in concert with architects, designers, and their clients to optimize their creations. In addition to designing kitchens and bathrooms, the furnishings may be enhanced with other applications of architectural cabinetmaking such as wall bookshelves, coffered ceilings, shelving, and walk-ins.
